FACULTYLo Moran
Lo Moran creates interdisciplinary projects that are often socially engaged, participatory and collaborative. They aim to experiment with and question the systems we are embedded in by organizing situations of connection, openness and nonhierarchical learning. They are working towards accessibility and reimagined ways of being together by investigating community support and belonging through social forms, performance, printmaking and illustration, educational work and developing archival methodologies. They are currently working on long term projects focused on research around personal encounters with deep divides in our culture(s). Lo has also been involved in creative projects within disability art communities for the last 13 years. They intentionally embrace fluidity and chaos to contribute to emergent futures and radical approaches.
Recent focus has been on regularly performing, touring and releasing experimental music as soft fantasy. In Fall 2025 soft fantasy released a cassette with Lake Shark HN and performed at Cafe OTO.
Lo has recently created projects with Sickness Affinity Group (Berlin DE), Galerie im Turm (Berlin DE), NGBK (Berlin DE), ACUD Galerie (Berlin DE), as part of Rehearsing Moves on Hazy Paths(Berlin DE), as a resident fellow at ZK/U(Berlin DE), Five Oaks Museum (Portland OR), Fusion Festival (Lärz Germany), as part of the Arlene Schnitzer Visual Art Prize exhibition at Portland State University (Portland OR), the Columbia Center for the Arts (Hood River OR), King School Museum of Contemporary Art (Portland OR), Portland Art Museum (Portland OR), a series of neighborhood block parties (Portland OR), Greensboro Project Space (Greensboro NC), Abteilung für Alles Andere (Berlin Germany), Art in Odd Places (New York, NY), Disjecta (Portland, OR), Port City Gallery (Portland, OR), and the El Paso Museum of Art (El Paso, TX).
A graduate of the Art and Social Practice program at Portland State University, they spent 2018-19 as Artist in Residence at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, where they researched concepts of community. Lo was also a member of the collective Public Annex.
